To Whom It May Concern
Reference: GCH – June 2023
We would like to inform you about the ongoing reorganization of what was formerly known as Grant’s Custom Homes. As we transition to new leadership and rebrand to GCH, further organizational adjustments may be necessary to ensure a smooth completion of this process.
Matt McCauley, the head of GCH, acknowledges that the transition, which began in 2022 and became official on February 1st of this year, has been more complex than anticipated. However, he remains dedicated to working closely with each homeowner, vendor, trade partner, financial institution, and others involved to achieve the established goals. Matt diligently upholds the commitments made by the founder, Scott Grant, who entrusted him to continue the legacy of the company.
The reorganizational plan of GCH encompasses various initiatives, including but not limited to refinancing specific construction projects and restructuring institutional debt. Unfortunately, these processes can be time-consuming for many.
Over the past couple of years, the industry has faced severe price increases due to the effects of Covid, with some high-ticket categories experiencing price hikes exceeding 300%. This, along with global supply chain issues that have greatly impacted build times, has added strain to the industry. Additionally, there has been a general inflation rate of over 13% in the past two years. Furthermore, interest rates have risen significantly, from 0.25% in March 2022 to 5.25% in May 2023—a staggering increase of 2000%. As a result, GCH has in the past, absorbed many of the escalated prices rather than passing them on to clients, as most of their contracts were fixed price contracts.
GCH aims to develop a comprehensive plan, guided by a professional firm, while prioritizing relationships. As GCH enters this new phase, we appreciate your patience and welcome calls to discuss any matters of concern.
We want to emphasize that our commitment to homeowners, trade partners, and other relationships remains steadfast, with the shared objective of fulfilling all commitments as planned.
